Green Smoothies – Superfoods for Health, Natural Cure for Acne

Green smoothies are an excellent natural cure for acne because of their high nutritional content and their ability to
help with the elimination of toxins from the body. Detoxification and nutrition are two of the seven essential
elements for clear skin. In order for the skin to be naturally clear, it has to be treated with plant nutrients not just on
the outside, but also on the inside. Proper elimination of toxins is also necessary for getting rid of acne naturally
and maintaining clear skin.

With the use of a blender, green smoothies are made by combining raw green leafy vegetables and raw fruits
together. Sometimes water or juice is added for a more liquid consistency. Raw fruits and vegetables are
healthier than those which are cooked, because they contain all of the nutrients that are usually destroyed through
cooking. Although green smoothies are typically made with 60% fruit and 40% leafy greens, leafy greens are the
nutrient foundation for green smoothies. Adding sweet fruits to the green leafy vegetables provides more nutrients
and makes the green smoothies taste delicious. Green smoothies can be made with a variety of green leafy
vegetables such as romaine lettuce, spinach, dandelion, kale, parsley, and collard greens. Dandelion is especially
beneficial at detoxifying the liver which makes it a super herb and a natural cure for acne. All edible Green leafy
vegetables contain a diverse array of nutrients. The nutrients not only provide excellent health benefits to the body,
they also help to cure acne naturally. The most common fruits to add to green smoothies are tropical fruits and
berries due to their high nutrient values and natural sugar density. Green smoothies can also be made with other
fruits such as apples and pears. All edible fruits are a great source of nutrients that are beneficial for health and
the healing of skin from the inside out.

The health benefits of green smoothies come from the large supply of nutrients contained within the fruits and
vegetables that are used to make them. Green leafy vegetables are superfoods and a great source of several
nutrients such as chlorophyll, iron, fiber, calcium, potassium, magnesium, plant protein, vitamin C, folic acid and
several phytochemicals. Fruits are also a great source of many nutrients including fiber, vitamins A and C, water,
B vitamins, minerals, and several phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are plant chemicals that contain protective
substances which are beneficial in the prevention and treatment of many diseases and conditions including the
various types of cancers, brain diseases such as alzheimer’s, and skin problems such as acne and eczema.
Fruits and green leafy vegetables are excellent sources of phytochemicals, which makes them an excellent natural
cure for acne. There are several phytochemicals contained within fruits and green leafy vegetables including
flavanoids, polyphenols, lignans, and carotenoids.

Fruits and green leafy vegetables are also excellent sources of dietary fiber. Fiber is an essential component in
the diet, necessary for moving foods and toxins through the digestive system. The two types of fiber are: soluble
fiber and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber assimilates well with water and other liquids forming a gel like substance that
combines with food inside the digestive system. It eases digestion and elimination. Insoluble fiber isn’t easily
assimilated into liquids. It stays solid – pushing toxins and waste through the digestive tract. They are both highly
beneficial for proper digestion of foods and elimination of waste. Aside from green smoothies being an excellent
food for healing acne naturally and maintaining clear skin, regular consumption of fruits and green leafy vegetables
is also associated with the reduced risk of several other diseases and conditions including cardiovascular disease,
stroke, cancer, alzheimer’s disease, and cataracts.

To cure acne naturally and prevent future acne breakouts, avoid eating toxic junk foods made with unhealthy
ingredients. Instead, regularly consume large quantities of raw fruits and vegetables throughout the day. Since
eating a large quantity of raw greens takes a lot of time due to their high insoluble fiber content, green smoothies
are an excellent option for getting several servings of fruits and vegetables everyday. Green smoothies are
typically blended until a mushy liquid is formed, making them excellent for both easy absorption of nutrients and
proper elimination of waste.
